My name is Donna DiMambro-Verrier. My family and I just got back from visiting Sant'Elia Fiumerapido. My Dad, Antonio DiMambro was born there. I never and never will again until I return there have seen anything so beautiful. The countryside was spectacular. We visited Atina and San Donato and a few other mountainside villages. The people are so helpful and friendly. I've left a part of me there, and I will hold the people that I met in a very special place in my heart. I will never forget you and what you did for my family and me. We will be back, that is a promise.
Salve amici. Mi chiamo Jean Le Landais e sono d'origine italiana e francese. Mia madre si chiama Martine Moret e vive con me a Bruxelles. E` venuto, in Belgio, suo Nonno (da Pordenone) quando era più giovane. Si chiamava Ermenegildo Moret e aveva alcuni fratelli. Uno di loro è partito per il Brasile (era cantante). Lo so che abbiamo ancora qualche persone di mia famiglia a Pordenone ma non so come fare per ritrovarle. Forse qualcuno puo aiutarmi. Grazie
04 Jul 2006 Hi there, I love this site! I am coming to Valleluce for the first time in September with my mother and i wonder if anyone has any advice on travelling to valleluce from Naples or Rome. 08 Jul 2006 Traveling to Valleluce from Rome or Naples : It is best to take the Train from Rome Airport to Rome Central Train Station (30 Min). From there you can take a Rapid Train to Cassino (2 hours ride). From Cassino to Valleluce you may take a taxi (30 Min). If you need to stay at a Hotel, you may find them in Cassino or St. Elia. From Naples you may also come to Cassino by train. (There are information offices in the train Stations and they also speak English there) Hope this helps. I am a descendant of Michele DiCicco and Carolina Rezza or Rizza through their son Antonio Dicicco who married Fortunata Rossi. Carolina, Antonio, and Fortunata, as well as several other DiCiccos, settled in Philadelphia by 1908 (they came 2 or 3 at time). My mother cannot see and she receive a very small pension from goverment which is not enought even for medications and food. I work very hard every day to be able to buy the necessities for my mother, but my salary is very small, because my studies still not finished. Due to the deep crisis authorities stoped gas supply in our district and now we cannot heat our home, because our home-heater works with gas. I don't know what to do, because the weather will be very cold in the next months and the temperature outside can be lower than minus 45 degrees Celsius, as it was in the last winter. I am afraid that the temperature inside our home can be very cold and we will not be able to survive. I'm very worry and I don't know what I can do in this situation. I collected several e-mail addresses and thanks to the free internet possibility in our local library I decided to appeal to you with a prayer in my heart for a small help. If you have any old sleeping bag, warm blanket, portable stove, warm clothes and shoes, electric water-boiler, canned and dried food, vitamins, medicines from cold (aspirin, paracetamol), any hygiene-products, I will be very grateful to you if you could urgently send it to our postal address which is: Valentin Mikhailin, Ryleeva Ulitsa, 6-45.
